Welcome to My Website!

I'm Matthew Reade, a young author who writes fictional novels. John: Son of a Commander, Clone 71: The Brotherhood, and Conner and Jackson: The Boyd Brothers are my first three novels. I began my career writing historical fiction, but I have also expanded into science fiction. I was inspired to write by Christopher Paolini, the author of the popular book, Eragon, because he was only fifteen years old when he wrote his first book. I am thirteen years old now and have an immense passion for writing, so I will be writing many more books in the future.

To learn more about me and my novels, please take some time to explore my interactive website.

Enjoy!

I have recently updated my website. Here is a list of the new updates.

  • Clone 71: The Brotherhood is now located in the Stand-Alone Novels tab.
  • Unseen Tracks now has its own tab. Check it out here.
  • Updated the links in the My Books page.
  • Status of Unseen Tracks changed to "Awaiting Publication".
  • Site navigation simplified.

Read books!

I want to keep you interested in books. Not just mine, but all books. They are fun, interesting, and are just downright enjoyable. Please read books. You won't regret it at all.

Why I write

I write books because of several things. One, I believe it is a person's responsibility to use and share their gifts with others. My talent seems to be writing, so I write. Others utilize their talents to lead, teach, and help others who may not have the ability to use their talents diligently or responsibly. Writing helps others by improving their vocabulary and their reading speed and accuracy. Best of all, you enjoy anything that you have worked on for a long time, such as a book. In fact, many have built careers on writing by using their knowledge to raise others up.

I read for enjoyment frequently, and I believe this has contributed to my writing skills.
